GRE

The full form of GRE is graduate record examination. This is an online test which is used for getting admission in universities located in the USA. Moreover, scholarships are also provided by the university based upon your GRE score.

Generally, GRE is of two types:

  1. General test.
  2. Subject test.

General test:

It is the general examination which checks the student ability in quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning and analytical writing skills.

Subject test:

It is the examination which checks the student ability on the subject based. This exam is given by the student based upon the requirement of the university.

In general, the total marks allocated for the GRE exam is 360, where 260 is a default mark (the counting of each correct answer starts adding from 260 onwards).

Time duration is 3hrs 45mins.

The GRE exam can be appear by two ways:

  1. Computer-based test.
  2. Paper-based test.

The GRE exam consists of six sections, in which, Quantitative reasoning has two sections of 35mins each for the computer-based exam and 40mins each for the paper-based exam. Similarly, Verbal reasoning has two sections of 30mins each for the computer-based exam and 35mins each for the paper-based exam. But, Analytical writing has two sections of 30mins each for both the computer-based exam and paper-based exam. In addition to this, you will get other section which is called as benefit section it might be from quantitative reasoning or verbal reasoning (Here, the best is taken consider).

GRE VALIDATION: The GRE exam validity is for five years after the year you have taken the exam.

Syllabus:

  1. Quantitative Reasoning.
  2. Verbal Reasoning.
  3. Analytical writing.

Quantitative reasoning:

It is the section which is purely based on mathematics, logical thinking, understanding the quantitative information and problem-solving technics.

 Verbal reasoning:

It is the section which is purely based on English grammar, drawing the conclusion for given statements, understanding the writers’ views, vocabulary.

 Analytical writing:

It is the section which is purely based on developing the ideas for the given topic and interpreting it clearly, reasons for supporting the statement by giving the examples, pros and cons. Moreover, also checks how the elements are arranged in the Standard English language.
