As said before IELTS is divided into four modules, in which listening is the one module which has different questions and sections. It consists of 40 questions and four different sections, where each section has 10 questions. The level of difficulty increase from section to section. The time duration is 30mins and evaluated between 0-9 bands. You will be given a headset during the examination from which you have to listen properly, meanwhile take down the answers from the audio.
Types of section:
This section is easy among all the sections. Here, you will hear a telephone conversation between the two people.
This section you will hear about different kind of places/ any shop/factory address/anything which is in the form of a map. The level of difficulty increase a bit compare to section 1
This section you will hear about something related to research/social organization. The level of difficulty is more compared to section 1 &2.
This section mostly is interconnected to section 3 / may be continuous to the information provided in section 3. This is the hardest section among all the four section.
Different types of questions:
- Lists of heading.
- Match the following.
- Fill in the blanks.
- Describe the diagram.
- Statement is true/false/not given.
- The Statement is yes/no/not given (as per condition).
- Multiple choices questions.
The score is calculated as per the number of correct answers given by you. They are no negative marking for a wrong answer.
